Description
Bacteriostatic Water — USP-Grade Reconstitution Solvent
Bacteriostatic Water for Injection (BWFI) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. It is the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides and other research compounds that require a sterile aqueous vehicle.
Key Features
Unlike sterile water for injection, bacteriostatic water can be used multiple times from the same vial due to its preservative content, which inhibits bacterial growth. This makes it practical and cost-effective for research laboratories that prepare multiple peptide reconstitutions.
